Lyn Stephenson founded the Industrial Hemp Association of Victoria and her vision for hemp was a catalyst for many current practices in place. After well over a decade as the president of the IHAV Lyn terminated her role during her voted role as Vice President on the committee in 2018 . "After having founded the Association years ago, it is time for new blood. That is not to say that I am leaving the industry" "
One of her biggest achievements was the compilation of several detailed submissions and personal representations to Food Standards Australia New Zealand to finally have hemp seed approved as a food.
She also had begun some work in 2012, to establish a national hemp body.
Working alongside the CSIRO to host the first Australian National Hemp Conference was also a highlight and a resounding success.
Lyn said " I will continue to promote hemp by growing it and displaying its many uses through my bed and breakfast operation "
Our Q & A night for new farmers, builders and innovators has been postponed.
